Pioneer Plumbing was founded in 1981 by Mike and Ginny Motzkin with a vision: to be the most honest and ethical trade partner of choice and to provide superior service and materials to the residential and commercial construction industry while fostering a work environment that encourages new ideas, innovations and growth.
They put their well-being on the line to breathe life into their dreams and visions.
The Motzkins started Pioneer Plumbing with one vehicle, a Volkswagen Bug, and a high level of ambition and hope. With Mike treating every customer as if it were his own parents and Ginny’s hard work, organizational skills and dedication, it did not take long for the business to expand.
With the expansion came the need for another strong and dedicated manager with the same vision as the Motzkins. In 1987 Jim Foster returned to Pioneer Plumbing to step up for that responsibility as General Manager. To this day, Jim Foster oversees all operational aspects of Pioneer Plumbing Heating and Cooling Inc.
Operating out of the Motzkins home on the Northwest side of Tucson from 1981 until 1992, Pioneer Plumbing grew to five fully stocked service trucks and eight employees. With further expansion on the cards, Pioneer Plumbing purchased a new fleet of brand new trucks in 1992 and moved to 100 E. Drachman in central Tucson. With the added space and new fleet, Pioneer Plumbing was able to serve southern Arizona even better. Coupled together with our excellent staff and Mike’s and Jim’s superb managerial skills, the sky was the limit.
Operating with honesty, integrity, respect and pride, Pioneer Plumbing grew even bigger. From 1992 to 2005 Pioneer Plumbing grew to nine trucks and fifteen employees. In 2005 our company moved out of its Drachman offices into brand-new premises of 1.3 acres and a 6,000 square foot facility located at 1312 E. Wieding Road, Tucson AZ, 85706.
With its expansion and the infrastructure to support its growth, the company added a Heating &Cooling Services department as well as a Construction Services department as well, following the Motzkins’ original vision.
Today: resources at your service
We currently have over 15 service trucks and over 30 employees operating on a daily basis to take care proficiently of all of your needs with honesty and integrity.
All of our employees must pass a background check, drug test and have a good driving record to gain employment. All of our technician must pass an extensive trade skills test to ensure that we only employ the best of the best. Our continuing education and weekly safety meetings ensure our employees are always have safety in mind. Employing over 30 highly qualified individuals, our combined knowledge saves you time and money.
Our 6,000 sq. ft. building and 1.3 acre lot gives us the space we need for all of our equipment. We have a full barrage of excavation equipment including:
- 1 dump truck
- 1 full-size backhoe
- 1 mini excavator
- Multiple trailers
- Several walk-behind trenchers, and
- Even more equipment.
This heavy equipment allows us to perform our excavation and hauling work more efficiently, thereby saving you money.
We employ two full-time mechanics who keep our fleet and tools working at maximum capacity. We have a fully stocked warehouses and a warehouse manager to distribute materials efficiently and prepare for jobs prior to commencing them.
Our highly trained office staff is ready to help you in all of your needs when you need it.
Our advanced computer system allows us to track, schedule and manage your job very proficiently.
We are always on call
Our after-hours answering service gives you the option to talk to a manager so when you have an emergency in the middle of the night or on the weekend, you can speak directly to a knowledgeable person as needed.
Our 24/7/365 service with two persons on call ensures we can respond to your problem or emergency at any hour of any day when you need us the most.
